SightLine Health Climbs Inc. 500 List

The Houston-headquartered company came in at 86 overall, up from its 2010 spot of 241

Houston, Texas, Sept. 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the second year in a row, SightLine Health earned a spot on the Inc. 500 list, the annual ranking of U.S.-based businesses by revenue growth, now available at newsstands and on-line. SightLine Health specializes in the development and management of cancer centers that deliver groundbreaking cancer treatments and personalized patient care.

The Houston-headquartered company came in at 86 overall, up from its 2010 spot of 241. SightLine Health also came in at 4 in the health category and 5 in Houston, thanks to a 2,868 percent growth in revenue from 2007 to 2010. SightLine Health’s 2007 revenue was $618,680. In 2010, it was $18.4 million.

"We couldn’t be more proud of making the Inc. 500 list again," said chairman and chief executive officer TJ Farnsworth. "It’s a true testament to the dedication of our employees, not only to this company but to our patients, whom we are helping fight cancer. We look forward to continued growth."

SightLine Health opened its first center, near Houston’s renowned Texas Medical Center, in 2005. Additional centers in Houston and Lubbock soon followed, along with centers in Beverly Hills and Woodland Hills, Calif. Two additional centers are under construction: A Seattle facility opens in October and one in Denver opens in spring of 2012. SightLine Health has plans to open five to eight more facilities across the country over the next two years.

Farnsworth points to the company’s embrace of cutting-edge technologies as a reason for its rapid revenue growth. Each SightLine Health center offers precise radiation treatments that pose low risk to patients’ healthy tissue. These highly successful treatments include image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and electron-beam radiation therapy.

SightLine Health also partners with leading medical experts to identify emerging treatments that look promising. Together, they assess these treatments, making many available to SightLine Health centers and their patients long before other radiation oncology providers.

Individualized patient care also contributes greatly to SightLine Health’s success, according to Farnsworth. As part of the treatment process, the center assigns each patient a cancer navigator. This cancer therapist helps the patient understand the disease and its treatment, provides emotional support to the patient and family members throughout the entire treatment process, and assists with everything from communication between physicians to insurance paperwork.

The cancer navigator also can connect the patient with groups that provide financial support for transportation and housing, if needed. Each patient "graduates" from his or her SightLine Health center with a ceremony, and all of a center’s former patients are invited back annually for a cancer-free celebration.
