Photo Release -- WSFS Announces Winners of the 3rd Annual Pet Photo Contest Event

Awards Prizes in Three Categories and Makes $2,100 Donation to the Delaware Humane Association


WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:WSFS), the parent company of WSFS Bank, announced that the Bank held an event at the Fox Run banking office in Bear, DE on Thursday, October 6, 2011 to announce the winners of the 3rd Annual WSFS Pet Photo Contest. Winners in "Best in Show",  "Most Personality" and "Kids & Pets" categories were chosen by celebrity judges Lieutenant Governor Matthew Denn, 93.7 WSTW "Wakeup Crew" host Spencer Graves, and Wilmington Bluerocks mascot, Rocky Bluewinkle. In addition, WSFS Bank presented a donation to the Delaware Humane Association.

"This year's Pet Photo Contest was our most successful year yet having received over 1,400 pet photos via online and in-branch submissions," said Rick Wright, Executive Vice President & Director of Retail Banking and Marketing. "We are very thankful to have the members of our community share their passion for their pets and help us support the Delaware Humane Association."

The winning pets in the "Best in Show" category were Jack & Jill – a pair of black and white domestic short hair cats belonging to Robin Noel from Newark, DE. Susan Washinski of Houston, DE and her Chocolate Labrador, Bella, were the winners of the "Most Personality" category. Mary Kate Church of Bear, DE and her Jack Russell Terrier, Lola, took home first place for "Kids & Pets."  The winners each received a $250 Concord Pet Foods & Supplies gift card, blue ribbon and trophy. 

Rick Wright and Rocky Bluewinkle also presented a $2,100 check to the Delaware Humane Association, which brought adoptable animals to the celebration. WSFS Bank donated $1 for every personal or business checking account opened through the month of August.
