G.hn Advances Highlighted at Smart Homes Summit

HomeGrid Forum's Chano Gomez to Set Out Steps to Interoperability and Examine the Progress Towards Deployment of G.hn Products

BEAVERTON, OR--(Marketwire - Oct 19, 2011) -

WHAT:
HomeGrid Forum is running three interoperability events before the end of this year, setting the foundation for broad deployment of G.hn products during 2012. The G.hn home networking specifications (G.9960, G.9961) were finalized during 2010 and HomeGrid Forum is moving rapidly to get compliant and interoperable G.hn systems out to market. HomeGrid Forum has a clear roadmap to support the widespread adoption of G.hn throughout the industry.

WHO:
Chano Gomez, co-chair of HomeGrid Forum's Marketing Working Group and Lantiq's representative on the Board of Directors as well as director of new business development for Lantiq, will describe the steps that soon will result in certified G.hn products. He will also describe the enormous advantages offered by the G.hn standards family that provide for faster, better performing home networking than any other wireline technology on the market. G.hn, G.hn-mimo and G.hnem standards present a clear pathway to the smart home of the future.

Chano will be speaking as part of the panel "Interoperability and a Closer Look at Standards - How They Can Make or Break Smart Homes" at the Smart Homes Summit at Smart Energy International.
