Hurd's New Transcend Replacement Window Offerings Geared for the Times

New Sash Kit Design and H3 Double Hung Insert Make Upgrades a Snap

MEDFORD, WI--(Marketwire - Oct 26, 2011) - Hurd Windows and Doors has expanded its Transcend line of replacement wood windows with two new products geared for today's economically-sensitive times. Hurd's new adjustable jambliner sash kits and H3 double hung inserts make upgrading old double hung windows a snap. Both new window options can be installed without disturbing the existing walls or trim, increasing the ease of installation, while reducing costs of a window replacement project.

For old double-hung window units with frames in good condition, sash replacement kits are the least expensive way to switch to new, energy efficient windows. Less expensive than replacing the whole unit, the kit is a better way to upgrade worn out windows without having to remove the current frame, sill or trim. With Hurd's newest sash kit design, the jambliner is not only concealed, it's also adjustable for far superior installation and smoother operation.

Hurd's second new offering, the Transcend H3 double hung insert window is a fully assembled window unit which fits into the old frame of an existing window. If the frame is still in good condition, simply remove the old sash and stops, then install the Hurd insert. This new window offers all the engineering and design options of the award winning H3 window, and, upon installation, homeowners will enjoy all its leading energy saving benefits, as well.

Hurd mid-priced replacement windows come with a variety of design options so homeowners can make them distinctly their own. The Transcend sash replacements and H3 window inserts are available with the same fine woods, broad range of colors, premium hardware and grilles as Hurd's premium-priced line. One of Transcend's breakout features is CoreGuard, regarded as the best wood protection in the industry, and a Hurd exclusive.

"Homeowners are watching what they spend, in particular when it comes to home improvement. Why replace the whole window and frame when parts of it are still in good condition?" said Hurd Windows and Doors Director of Sales and Marketing, Transcend Division, David Porter. "These window replacement options allow people to make use of what they have and improve on it, while keeping waste and costs down. Ultimately, they will improve the energy efficiency, aesthetics and value of their home."

Hurd's many styles of windows and doors are popular with new construction homes and for replacement windows as homeowners seek out attractive, energy efficient options.
