CollegeWeekLive Launches High School Counselor Network Enabling Colleges and Universities to Set Up Virtual Visits With High Schools Nationwide

NEEDHAM HEIGHTS, Mass., Nov. 16, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CollegeWeekLive, the leading platform for live conversations between students and colleges, announced today the launch of its High School Counselor Network, which will allow colleges and universities to schedule virtual visits with high schools that they are currently unable to reach physically. Similarly, high school counselors, administrators and staff will be able to request virtual visits with college or universities that currently to do not physically come to their region, town or school.

The CollegeWeekLive High School Counselor Network includes representatives from over 20,000 high schools across the country. Physically visiting a high school has been a core part of recruiting for College Admissions offices. CollegeWeekLive now gives colleges the ability to broaden geographic reach and reduce budget by supplementing their physical travel schedule with virtual high school visits.

"With budget pressures at high schools and the colleges, both are looking for new ways to empower high school students to engage in the college recruitment process while controlling costs. At Lincoln-Sudbury High School in Massachusetts, admissions counselor visits were eliminated due to budget cuts," said Robert Rosenbloom, CEO CollegeWeekLive. "With the High School Counselor Network, we are enabling colleges to meet with high schools they can't get to today, and meet with them live online."

Colleges, universities and/or high schools that are interested in scheduling virtual college visits, can contact colleges@collegeweeklive.com  or visit http://resources.collegeweeklive.com/Guidance-Counselor-Network.html for more information.
