TradeStation Announces Winner of Nationwide Contest; Winner Can 'Trade Free for Life'

Award-Winning Online Brokerage Turns Trading Dream Into Reality

Demonstrates Power of Highly Customizable Platform

PLANTATION, Fla., Feb. 28, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, William Hawk of San Jose, CA, was officially announced the winner of TradeStation's "Trade Free for Life" contest. The contest encouraged US-based traders to submit their most creative "If only I could . . ." idea to best analyze and trade financial markets.

Hawk submitted an idea that was chosen from more than 300 entries. His winning idea, "to compare the relative strength of the major market industry sectors to the best and worst performing stocks in each of those sectors," is now a new analysis technique available to all TradeStation clients.

Hawk is retired, having served in the US Navy and worked in the defense industry for more than 40 years. A long time equities investor, he recently started to swing and day trade in equities using the TradeStation platform.

"Although there were many excellent entry submissions, William's idea had the biggest trading and analysis impact for the largest number of our clients," says Erik Jepson, the company's Vice President of Marketing. The new tool identifies trading opportunities among the strongest and weakest economic industry sectors – looking for the strongest and weakest stocks within those sectors.

TradeStation will award Hawk the option of a futures or equities brokerage account that will be commission-free for life. Hawk's tool – complete with documentation and a training video – is now available to all TradeStation customers at http://www.tradestation.com/education/university/school-of-tradestation-basics/quick-tips/market-analysis.

TradeStation's proprietary technology offers sophisticated analysis capabilities for every level of trader, along with the ability to back-test and paper-trade ideas. Its extensive market databases include both intraday data and more than 1,000 fundamental data fields. Traders have access to a variety of multimedia educational resources to help generate new trading ideas and improve trading skills.

TradeStation, named "Best Online Broker" by Barron's magazine in 2011, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Monex Group, Inc. (TSE:8698), was built as a complete solution for the committed trader. The company's award-winning technology can back-test and automate even highly customized, multi-parameter trading strategies.
