Chemical Bank Celebrates 95 Years of Community Banking

MIDLAND, Mich., March 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today marks Chemical Bank's 95th Anniversary.

Since first opening its doors as Chemical State Savings Bank on March 14, 1917, Chemical Bank has remained true to its founding principles of providing individualized banking solutions, personalized customer service and improving the quality of life in the communities we serve. These principles, while simplistic in nature, have been the catalyst for Chemical Bank's continued growth and expansion.

"From our humble beginnings in Midland, it is our pleasure to now serve 32 counties in Michigan's Lower Peninsula through 142 banking locations. With gratitude, I extend our sincere appreciation to the Michigan communities, businesses and residents who have contributed to our success," said David B. Ramaker, Chairman, CEO & President. Chemical Bank's commitment is unwavering; fully supported by its 1,800 employees and firmly embraced by over 230,000 customers.

Emphasis is placed daily on fundamentally linking our role as a community bank to our goal of improving quality of life. To that end, Chemical Bank's actions lead to at least one of two related outcomes: making the lives of people who live in our communities better and/or making these communities better places for people to live. "In celebrating our 95th Anniversary, we honor the customers and communities we are privileged to serve," commented Ramaker. "We fully recognize that without your patronage and support, Chemical Bank would not exist."

Chemical Bank will be celebrating this milestone through the end of the year with customer appreciation celebrations at branches throughout the State.
