BrightPoint Named to 2012 FORTUNE 500 List

INDIANAPOLIS, May 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. ("BrightPoint") (Nasdaq:CELL), a global leader in providing device lifecycle services to the wireless industry, today announced it has been named to the FORTUNE 500 list of the largest U.S.-based companies. Brightpoint was ranked 463 overall, 7th in the "Wholesalers: Electronics and Office Equipment" category and is one of six companies from the State of Indiana included on the 2012 list.

"BrightPoint is pleased to be once again named to the FORTUNE 500 list," stated Robert J. Laikin, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of BrightPoint. "This honor recognizes the continued execution of our growth strategy and the unwavering commitment of BrightPoint employees worldwide to deliver on our commitments to our customers."

FORTUNE's methodology for the FORTUNE 500 is that companies are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Included in the survey are companies that are incorporated and operate in the U.S. and file financial statements with a government agency.  This includes private companies and cooperatives that file a 10-K or a comparable financial statement with a government agency, and mutual insurance companies that file with state regulators. It also includes companies that file with a government agency but are owned by private companies, domestic or foreign, that do not file such financial statements.
