New President and Governing Council Introduced at 90th Annual General Meeting of Ontario Engineering Regulator

Consulting Engineer and Long-Time Association Volunteer Begins Term as PEO President


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 14, 2012) - Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the licensing and regulating body for professional engineers and engineering in the province, installed Denis Dixon, P.Eng., FEC, as its 93rd president during its annual general meeting (AGM) on May 12, 2012, at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre.

During his term as PEO president, Mr. Dixon's priorities include fiscal responsibility for the association, and engaging Council and the membership to increase the relevance of self-regulation and licensure in the profession.

Mr. Dixon has been a dedicated volunteer and an influential force at PEO for over 20 years, during which time he served four terms as a PEO councillor-at-large and chaired or was an active member of many key committees and task forces.

A self-employed consulting engineer with years of international experience, Mr. Dixon has completed projects in building services design in The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan and several Gulf islands. He received his engineering degree in 1961 from Liverpool, UK, and became a P.Eng. in Ontario in 1966.
