SoundBite Communications Elects New Board Member

Software and Services Industry Veteran Rodger Weismann Joins the SoundBite Communications Board of Directors

BEDFORD, Mass., May 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SoundBite Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:SDBT) today announced the election of Rodger Weismann to the board of directors. Mr. Weismann fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Ms. Reggie Sommer at the end of her term.

"Rodger Weismann brings over four decades of experience in financial and operational leadership roles," stated Jim Milton, president and CEO of SoundBite Communications. "As SoundBite continues to transform and expand in the mobile marketing and hosted contact center markets while driving towards sustained profitable growth, Rodger's leadership skills and strong financial acumen will play a key role on the board and as the chair of the audit committee."

Eileen Rudden, board chair, added, "We are excited to have Rodger join us but also want to acknowledge Reggie Sommer for her years of service on the board and as the audit committee chair. Her keen financial and business focus has been of great benefit to SoundBite and we wish her well."

Most recently, Weismann was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Phase Forward, a publicly traded provider of data management solutions for clinical trials and drug safety which was acquired by Oracle. Prior to Phase Forward, Weismann served as the chief financial officer for several public and private northern California-based software companies, including Insight Software, Kabira Technologies, and Forte Software. Weismann's early career was at industry leaders such as Banyan Systems, McCormack & Dodge and Interactive Data Corporation, and he began his career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell (now KPMG, LLP) taking roles in both audit and consulting groups.

In addition to joining the SoundBite board, Weismann is succeeding Sommer as chair of the board's audit committee. Weismann currently serves as a director and chairman of the audit committee of Reval Holdings, Inc., a global software-as-a-service provider of treasury and risk management solutions.

Weismann is a graduate of Cornell University and earned an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
