Omnitek Engineering CEO to Present at Shale Gas Innovation Awards Ceremony in Pennsylvania

SAN MARCOS, Calif., May 21, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Omnitek Engineering Corporation (OTCBB:OMTK) today announced Werner Funk, the company's president and chief executive officer, will make a presentation at the Shale Gas Innovation Finalists Awards Ceremony being held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hilton Harrisburg located at 1 North 2nd Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Seraph Energy, LLC, Omnitek's exclusive marketing agent for the company's diesel-to-natural gas conversion kits in Pennsylvania, was selected as one of the 12 finalists based on its focus on cultivating market growth and facilitating conversions -- targeting an estimated population of more than 150,000 heavy-duty diesel trucks in the state.

The event is organized by the Ben Franklin Shale Gas Innovation and Commercialization Center and affiliated sponsors and judges, which include: Chesapeake Energy, First National Bank, Marcellus Shale Coalition, Little Pine Resources and Schlumberger.

"The investment to convert will be further enhanced by a rapidly growing infrastructure in Pennsylvania that offers easy access to natural gas supplied by the Marcellus Shale Gas Field, an energy source estimated to be the second largest natural gas reserve in the world and possibly the single most important economic stimulant in the history of Pennsylvania," said Ed Agostinelli, general manager of Seraph Energy, LLC.

"During the 20-year life span of diesel engines, routine overhauls are required and service budgets established in advance. By converting these diesel engines to operate on natural gas during a routine service overhaul, truck operators can realize a significant return on investment, with much lower fuel costs and cleaner combustion," Funk said

Werner Funk and Ed Agostinelli will be available for media interviews either before or after the event.
