CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 30, 2012) - Spectrem Group announced today that its Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI(SM)) dropped 7 points in May to -5. The Index measures the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in net worth. This is the second consecutive month that the index posted a decline, a reflection of ongoing concern over whether the economic recovery is gaining traction.
The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI(SM)) dipped five points to 3, the biggest loss in almost a year.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI(SM)) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets. The Index has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI(SM)) is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
