VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - May 31, 2012) - ActiveState, whose software enables developers and enterprises to innovate from code to cloud, announced today that CEO Bart Copeland will deliver a keynote address at Cloud Slam '12 in San Francisco. Copeland joins colleague Diane Mueller, who will participate in the "PaaS DeathMatch" panel.
"Cloud Slam gives us a great opportunity to connect with enterprise and development thought leaders to share, collaborate, learn and strategize about all things PaaS," says ActiveState's Copeland. "I'm honored to have been selected to present a keynote address."
Copeland's May 31st presentation titled, "Why Private PaaS is NOT an Oxymoron," focuses on private PaaS deployment considerations for the real-world enterprise. He will also participate in a panel of industry leaders discussing "Power PaaS in the Enterprise."
"Some pundits question how private PaaS can deliver comparable benefits to a public cloud alternative," notes Copeland. "The truth is that private PaaS reduces deployment time, eases provisioning, and offers better management control than a public PaaS. For the real-world enterprise, private PaaS is an IT imperative, not a contradiction."
Cloud Slam is one of several upcoming event presentations for Copeland, who will also speak June 13th at the Cloud Expo East conference in New York.
