NEW YORK, June 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CLEAR, the nation's pre-eminent biometric secure ID program, will launch at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on June 27. This comes on the heels of CLEAR's latest opening in San Francisco last month as CLEAR continues its national expansion. At DFW, CLEARlanes will be located at Terminal E, which serves Alaska, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Spirit, United, US Airways and Virgin America. CLEAR's innovative biometric technology combined with members-only lanes allows travelers to speed through security, averaging five minutes or less. Travelers simply confirm their identity with the touch of a finger.
"We are thrilled to bring CLEAR's biometric platform to Dallas and Fort Worth. DFW is a valuable addition to CLEAR's growing network of airport partners bringing much needed speed and predictability to the travel experience. The addition of CLEAR demonstrates DFW's commitment to enhancing security and the airport experience, solidifying DFW's position as an industry innovator," said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker.
CLEAR's national network uses biometrics to quickly speed all passengers through security for any airline, regardless of status. CLEARlanes opened in every terminal at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on May 23.
"DFW Airport is focused on customer satisfaction, so we are always looking for new ways to improve the customer experience. The use of biometric technology is a great step forward," said Jeff Fegan, CEO for DFW International Airport. "Adding the capability to speed up the security screening process is a frequent request we get from our customers. Implementing CLEAR at DFW is one way to speed up the process while continuing to ensure safety and security."
In Denver, Orlando and San Francisco, CLEARlanes have been used more than 600,000 times, collectively saving CLEAR members more than 18 million minutes.
Dallas/ Ft. Worth International Airport is introducing CLEAR's biometric technology to enhance passengers' travel experience but it also means increased productivity and efficiency throughout the airport. This will make additional customer service agents available to help all travelers, which creates happier passengers all around.
"We're proud of CLEAR's Safety Act Certified technology which alleviates one of the great bottlenecks in travelers' lives -- while at the same time enhancing homeland security. We're also happy to contribute to new revenue for the airport, as well as new private sector jobs for the region," said Ms. Seidman-Becker.
CLEAR membership costs $179 for one year with unlimited use. Members can add their spouse or significant other to their account with the Family Plan for an additional $50. All children under 18 can use the CLEARlane free of charge, and with no enrollment, necessary, when accompanied by an adult member. Enrollment is fast and easy and can be started online at www.CLEARme.com.
