King & Spalding Boosts Global Disputes Practice

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Aug 27, 2012) -  King & Spalding has recruited Erika Serran Toussaint to join its global disputes practice as a counsel in its Houston office as the firm continues to expand its international investment treaty and cross-border commercial disputes practice in the United States and abroad, the firm announced today.

"We are proud to add Erika as a member of the firm's global disputes practice, which includes international investment treaty and commercial arbitration as well as cross-border litigation, governmental investigations and contentious trade cases," said Reggie Smith, a leader in King & Spalding's global disputes practice. "Erika not only has extensive investment dispute and commercial arbitration experience, but also outstanding commercial litigation skills, which will add strength to our cross-border litigation practice. We welcome her to our Houston office."

Toussaint, who relocated to Houston from Washington, D.C. in 2011, formerly worked at White & Case, where her practice focused on investor-state arbitration, commercial arbitration as well as commercial litigation and compliance. She received a J.D. degree from Yale Law School and a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

King & Spalding is a world leader in both foreign investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration. In 2012, Global Arbitration Review ranked King & Spalding fourth among the world's top global firms serving as arbitration counsel. In the Chambers Global 2012 guide 10 King & Spalding arbitration lawyers received a total of 18 listings, and the 2012 edition of Legal 500 U.S. selected King & Spalding as one of four firms recognized in Band 1 for arbitration experience.
