MADD Becomes Newest Strategic Partner for TEAM Coalition

Alexandria, VA, Sept. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) announced today that MADD is the newest strategic partner of the non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of alcohol awareness and positive fan behavior at sporting events and concerts. MADD joins six other strategic partners of the organization, which include the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Sheriffs' Association and the Governors Highway Safety Association.

"We are excited about this opportunity to work with TEAM Coalition to build upon our efforts to eliminate drunk driving," said MADD Chief Executive Officer Debbie Weir.  Our existing relationship with the NFL, coupled with this opportunity to work with TEAM Coalition, will provide important outreach opportunities for our state and local offices, and the victims and survivors we serve.""I believe that through collaboration with TEAM Coalition, we can more effectively expand the reach of our message, resulting in lives saved and injuries prevented."

TEAM Coalition is an alliance of 21 organizations which includes professional and collegiate sports, entertainment facilities, concessionaires, stadium service providers, the beer industry, distillers, broadcasters, governmental traffic safety experts and others. Its members are united by their mission to provide effective alcohol service training and promote responsible alcohol consumption to enhance the entertainment experience while reducing alcohol-related instances in facilities and on the road.

"Expanding our network of strategic partners is a critical component to the continued success of TEAM Coalition. As our newest strategic partner, MADD has already demonstrated its support of our mission through efforts to promote the designated driver programs with many NFL teams over the last two seasons," said Jill Pepper, executive director of TEAM Coalition. "Bringing strategic partners and member organizations together to promote responsibility is what TEAM Coalition is all about. We are demonstrating that when everyone - including the fans - takes responsibility and makes safe choices, everyone wins."
