Tactical Communications Group Announces Successful Key DOD Product Accreditation Testing Results and Immediate Availability of a New Family of Operationally-Oriented Tactical Data Link Solutions

Recently Featured at RIMPAC 2012 and Deployed Today in Theater, TCG Continues Operational Market Expansion With Introduction of New Family of Cost-Effective, IA-Compliant TDL Products

TEWKSBURY, MA--(Marketwire - Sep 18, 2012) -  Tactical Communications Group (TCG), the leading independent provider of tactical data link (TDL) software solutions for military test, training, simulation and operational applications worldwide, today announced it successfully completed a comprehensive software security assessment customarily required for Information Assurance (IA) certification, and the immediate availability of a new suite of cost-effective, multi-link command and control solutions designed to provide optimized situational awareness (SA) and data-link centric command and control (C2) capabilities for battlefield use by the warfighter.

Leveraging key elements of TCG's existing and proven suite of tactical data link products, TCG's new "GTS™ for Operations" product line now provides operational users a new alternative for cost-effective, interoperable, combat-proven battlefield TDL systems with comprehensive SA and data link-centric C2 capabilities. This new GTS for Operations suite of products supports multiple data links today, including Link 16, Link 11, and SADL, with Link 22 support under development and planned for release in the near future. TCG's new family of operational TDL solutions also supports other key military communications protocols and interfaces, including JREAP-A, JREAP-C and SIMPLE. The GTS for Operations family of products is also available in multiple, cost-effective configurations to allow for use in fixed command centers, mobile deployed operations down-range, or for other specific military use cases, and is TCG's first operational product line which has successfully passed this comprehensive software security assessment required by the DOD and DISA in order to operate when connected to the SIPRNet Global Information Grid.

As the leading, privately-held international supplier of data link solutions, TCG has designed this new family of operational solutions to be easily customizable to meet specific architecture and information exchange requirements. It is configurable for the warfighter to meet multiple specific mission areas, such as data link-centric command and control engagements, border security, close air support (CAS), and situational awareness, and includes ruggedized options for mobile, forward theater deployment. This new TCG family of operational solutions is also modular and designed for rapid deployment, quick set-up, and ease of use, enabling fast situational awareness and providing the warfighter key data link communication capabilities quickly, even when used by operators without extensive data link training. These new operational TDL solutions also fully leverage the unique TCG underlying product architecture which enables multiple units to simultaneously share a single Link 16 terminal, or host multiple terminals, and has been designed to provide operational users a state-of-the-art, easy to field, solution with comprehensive TDL communications capabilities, all on a highly cost-effective basis.

"Our GTS for Operations product line, which leverages major elements of our market-leading LinkPRO, BOSS and GTS solutions, has been widely used in theatre already to provide targeting information to strike aircraft and was recently successfully showcased at RIMPAC 2012. With this important DOD IA testing successfully completed, our warfighter customers can now fully utilize the power of GTS  for Operations to support home unit or deployed operations anywhere in the world," said Nick Kropp, TCG Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. "We will continue to quickly advance this operational product line, with support for Linux, and other key feature enhancements coming soon, and with JITC standards conformance testing planned in the near future. I'm very pleased to provide this comprehensive new set of capabilities to our warfighters, all on a highly cost-effective basis."

"Over the past two years, TCG has made great strides in its market expansion initiatives, evolving to becoming a supplier of operational solutions to the global military community, to complement our strong TDL test and training business. We have enjoyed great success recently in having our LinkPRO software be the data link processing engine of choice for major US and International prime contractors, and our announcement today of our new GTS for Operations family of operational TDL solutions which has successfully completed customary DOD/DISA testing is another important step in our ongoing expansion into this operational market space," said Ed Durkin, TCG's President and CEO. "With support for Linux and new data links like Link 22 planned for the near future, and with our ability to provide lower-cost, fully compliant operational data links solutions, we are confident that TCG will continue to supplant existing expensive incumbent solutions, and evolve to become the preferred choice globally for operational users of data link solutions, across all branches of service."
