3D Systems' VisiJet Jewel Automates Jewelry Manufacturing

-- Accurate, Detailed Jewelry Patterns for Direct Casting

-- Lower Cost, Faster Stone-In-Place Casting

ROCK HILL, S.C., Oct. 15, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) announced today the immediate availability of VisiJet® Jewel, a new specialized material formulated for high volume jewelry production. Developed expressly for use with the ProJet® 6000 and 7000 professional 3D printers, VisiJet Jewel allows manufacturers worldwide to produce master models for direct casting of cost effective jewelry with unparalleled detail, accuracy and quality, in hours rather than days.

ProJet® 6000 and 7000 3D printers combine push button simplicity with SLA® printability to deliver the highest quality, most accurate parts and patterns available. A low ash formulation makes the new VisiJet Jewel material especially suitable for direct casting patterns. Exact wall thickness and maximum scooping minimize the use of precious metals. These durable patterns can also be used for stone-in-place casting, which significantly reduces costs for jewelry manufacturers. The high contrast rich dark blue color of VisiJet Jewel allows for detailed visual inspection of designs and patterns.

"VisiJet Jewel yields unequalled surface finish, feature resolution and quality, printed at speeds not seen before, to offer jewelry manufacturers an exceptional ROI," said Buddy Byrum, Vice President of Channel Programs for 3D Systems. "VisiJet Jewel underscores our commitment to deliver affordable and profitable turnkey production solutions to a growing installed base of jewelry manufacturers worldwide."
