Significant cross-industry recognition for Thinfilm's leadership in the development of printed smart tags for the Internet of Things
Oslo - October 24, 2012 - Thin Film Electronics ASA ("Thinfilm") (OSE: THIN.OL) today announced that The World Technology Network ("WTN") has selected Thinfilm as the winner of the prestigious World Technology Award for Materials. The award for visionary contribution to material science and technology was presented at the World Technology Summit 2012 Gala Awards ceremony at the Time & Life Building in New York on the evening of October 23rd.
The World Technology Awards are presented annually at the World Technology Summit to individuals and corporations achieving significant innovation and lasting progress in categories such as science, technology, the arts, and design. The awards are given in association with Time, Fortune, CNN, Science and The MIT Technology Review.
The world technology award given by the world technology network recognizes companies and individuals doing the most innovative work of the greatest long-term significance. "Thin Film Electronics joins an elite group of companies honored by The World Technology Network fellows," says James P. Clark, the founder and CEO of The World Technology Network.

The recognition by the Wall Street Journal and The World Technology Network follows important printed electronics industry awards earlier this year from both the FlexTech Alliance and IDTechEx. Thinfilm was also recently recognized by GigaOm as one of the 15 Most Innovative Companies in mobile.
