CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Oct 31, 2012) - Spectrem Group announced today that its Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) and the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) each reached six-month highs in October. The SAICI gained six points to -2, and the SMICI gained 1 point to 2. The Indexes measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in investable assets.
"Our monthly Affluent surveys reflect cautious optimism in the economy," observed George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "The Spectrem Affluent Household Outlook, a survey of Affluent attitudes toward financial factors that impact their daily lives, jumped to its highest level since last April. But while there was an uptick in stock investments among Affluent investors, there was no improvement in the number of those who are opting for now to stay on the sidelines."
Affluent investors also said that "stock market conditions" is the one factor that is most affecting their current investment plans.

Methodology
The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets. The Index has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
