CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Feb 27, 2013) - Spectrem Group announced today that its Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) dropped 10 points in February to 1 after it had reached a near two-year high in January.
The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) dropped three points to -7, the 10th consecutive month the Index has been in negative territory. The Indexes measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in net worth.
"The level of Millionaire investors who indicated they planned to stay on the sidelines and not invest was at its highest since September 2011," noted George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "While stock mutual funds and stocks were their planned investment vehicles of choice, they were at lower levels than in January."
Shaken Millionaire confidence was also reflected in the monthly Spectrem Affluent Household Outlook, which dropped nearly five points in February.

Methodology
The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets. The Index has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
