Media Advisory: Canada as a Sustainable Energy Superpower

March 7, 2013 (noon to 2 p.m.), 40 Sheppard Ave. W., Toronto

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 6, 2013) - While Canada is well known for its large energy resources, it is one of the few countries that also have the technology, financial community and human capital to evolve into a sustainable energy superpower.

At tomorrow's seminar, guest speaker Richard Marceau, P.Eng., FCAE, will discuss Canada's highly successful big project innovation strategy and how it can help this country become a sustainable energy superpower. As well, he will outline nine proposed mega projects encompassing sustainable development and the upgrading of energy resources into value-added products. The end result will be greater economic stability and opportunity, increased wealth, and a continued high quality of life for all Canadians. The seminar is part of the Policy Engagement Series presented by the Ontario Centre for Engineering and Public Policy.

Richard Marceau is provost of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, president of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and a registered professional engineer in Ontario and Quebec.
