LightPointe Introduces Industry-Leading Warranty on Wireless Bridges, Celebrating 15 Year Anniversary; Exhibits at CeBIT Tradeshow

Company Demonstrates Its New HyBridge(TM) All-Weather Always-On Gigabit Capacity Wireless Bridges, Now With 2-Year Warranty

SAN DIEGO, CA and HANOVER, GERMANY--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2013) - CeBIT Tradeshow -- LightPointe, the number one manufacturer of hybrid all-weather backhaul radios with integrated FSO technology and a leader in 60 and 80 GHz millimeter wave e-band radios, announced that it has doubled the warranties on all products effective immediately in celebration of its 15th year in the wireless industry. The announcement comes on the first day of the CeBIT telecom and electronics tradeshow in Hanover, Germany, where the company is exhibiting its latest HyBridge all-weather, always-on outdoor wireless bridges used to transmit data at 1.5 Gbps between buildings and in telecom networks.

"With sales up 30 percent last year, and dramatic improvements made in quality and reliability due to our moving manufacturing for all radio and optical products to our new headquarters in San Diego, it's time that we reward our broadening base of customers with one of the best warranties in the industry," said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, CEO of LightPointe. "All products will now receive two years parts and labor. In addition, we have implemented a new training and certification program to further show our support for our valued distributors, system integrators, and end-customers. Certification training consists of a series of webinars and classes to educate sales and installation personnel on deployment of 60 GHz, 70/80 GHz, Free Space Optics, and all-weather hybrid laser-radio broadband bridges. It's our way of saying thank you for supporting LightPointe these past 15 years."

LightPointe has also added three new personnel to enhance customer sales and support, including another business director in Europe based in the Netherlands, which is in addition to existing sales directors based in Germany and France. And in San Diego, California, the company has added two operations department personnel.

"2013 will, aside from our 15th anniversary, be an exciting year for LightPointe," said Dr. Willebrand, who was recently acknowledged on the EE Times list Forty innovators building the foundation of the next-gen electronics industry. "Last year we moved all manufacturing to new production facilities in the heart of what has become America's most renowned region for wireless innovation, San Diego, California, where companies such as Qualcomm, Samsung, Leap Wireless, LG, and dozens of other wireless companies have operations. The end result is that our product engineers, quality personnel and manufacturing technicians are under one roof. This has led to enhancements in quality control and order turn-around. The bottom line is that our operations and quality personnel have given LightPointe management the confidence to double our warranties on all products. We are confident that LightPointe has the broadest range of reliable and affordable high performance Gigabit capacity Ethernet bridges available in the industry."

LightPointe's CeBIT exhibit is in Hall 11, booth C38/1.
