Omaha, NE, March 7, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Frank's Kraut is joining with the City of Omaha on March 14th for a mayoral proclamation of Reuben Sandwich Day, celebrating their city as the birthplace of the Reuben. Frank's is inviting all of Omaha to join together with Mayor Suttle for a photo that will appear on nationally distributed labels of Frank's Kraut. Frank's has been manufactured for 108 years in Fremont, Ohio.
The photo will be taken between 4:00-4:30 PM on March 14th, 2013 at Omaha's Crescent Moon Alehouse, 3578 Farnam St., Omaha, NE, located across the street from the original Blackstone Hotel.

According to legend, the sandwich was created at Omaha's Blackstone Hotel in 1925 to feed players engaged in a late-night poker game. The sandwich became instantly famous when it was awarded the grand prize in a 1956 National Sandwich Idea contest sponsored by the National Restaurant Association.
