Venyu Sponsors The Shamrock Color 5K + Block Party

BATON ROUGE, LA--(Marketwire - Mar 13, 2013) - Venyu joins a colorful group of local organizations in sponsorship of The Shamrock Color 5K + Block Party, benefiting the CoHabitat Foundation and Downtown Shreveport Unlimited. Taking place Saturday, March 16^th from 2-6 p.m. at Festival Plaza in Downtown Shreveport, a group of Venyu participants will run and walk through a gauntlet of cornstarch and FD&C approved colorants every kilometer of the course, to help raise funds for local causes.

The Shamrock is Shreveport Bossier's first family-friendly 5K and Saint Paddy's Day block party, hosted by and benefiting Cohab and Downtown Shreveport Unlimited (DSU). The event's volunteers are stationed on the edge of each color station as runners move between them. Event organizers advise to "stick to either edge of the station, closest to the color bins," if participants prefer a heavy dose of color and "run right up the middle," to limit powder coatings.

• Number of anticipated racers: 1,000, with 500-600 additional participants for the block party
