A New Name for the Revolutionary Heated-Air Lice Device

SALT LAKE CITY, June 27, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larada Sciences announced today from its headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, that it is changing the name of its professional lice device to AirAllé™ (pronounced air-a-lay), effective immediately. The device was formerly called LouseBuster. This change reflects a premium, international brand that provides a simple yet elegant solution to head lice.

The name change is part of a larger rebranding effort by Larada Sciences as it continues growing the world's largest network of lice-removal professionals. In the three years since it started shipping its revolutionary product, the company has penetrated markets in 22 countries where its medical device has treated approximately 50,000 lice infestations.

The new brand identity and name change coincide with the launch of a new corporate website in six languages at LaradaSciences.com, which replaces the LouseBuster.com website.

"An early prototype of the lice device was dubbed 'The LouseBuster' by the University of Utah research lab where the elegant technology was developed," said Larry Rigby, Executive Chairman of Larada Sciences. "That name stuck and was picked up by prominent media outlets all over the world. That coverage served us well in the early days of our company, but the time has come for a product name that better reflects our brand. AirAllé does exactly that."

The new Larada Sciences website contains three sections. The main section is a rich source of factual information on head lice and lice removal, with 36 informative videos answering commonly asked lice questions. The second section describes the AirAllé device, its effectiveness at killing head lice and eggs, and where to get a professional AirAllé treatment. The last section details how entrepreneurs can start and grow successful businesses with the AirAllé device.

The AirAllé device is an FDA-cleared and CE-marked medical device that kills lice and lice eggs by dehydrating them with heated air. On average, a single 30-minute AirAllé treatment kills head lice and 99.2 percent of lice eggs, a rate higher than traditional lice products.

Camps, schools, healthcare professionals and lice-removal experts around the world use the AirAllé device to treat lice infestations. The device is at the forefront of a shift from self-treatment of lice, which can be messy, time-consuming and frustrating, to a single professional treatment. It also provides a new method of treating head lice without the use of pesticides.
