Peak 10's Prompt Service Delivery Attracts The Tampa Tribune

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 18, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- National IT infrastructure and cloud solutions provider Peak 10 Inc. has signed The Tampa Tribune, a daily metropolitan newspaper with more than 603,900 readers. In late 2012, The Tampa Tribune's ownership changed hands, giving rise to the demand for decentralized IT systems from the former parent company. It chose to move its IT infrastructure to Peak 10's Tampa, Fla. location, which was close enough to easily access, but out of the area's flood and evacuation zones. The Tampa Tribune is using Peak 10's data center services to house and protect its IT production environment where programs are run and hardware setups are relied on for daily operations.

"Peak 10 was the only local provider that was responsive and had space available for us immediately. They were ready for us before we were ready for them," said Brian Junge, IT director for The Tampa Tribune. "We had no time for red tape, and Peak 10 made our transition seamless. They delivered a cost-efficient solution combined with quality customer service. To us, it was the best value for supporting our online media growth opportunities."

Peak 10 collaborated with The Tampa Tribune and TBO.com to transfer and set up its IT production environment within a short time period to minimize interruption of its 24x7 operations. The Tampa Tribune is utilizing Peak 10 for hosting its proprietary programs such as processing systems for generating newspaper and online content, file servers for employees, and programs for manipulating photos and ingesting and outputting data to production.

"In addition to our proximity and immediate service delivery, our multi-carrier network was important to The Tampa Tribune, as it provides the 24/7 redundancy needed to maintain business operation," said Cheryl Kleiman, Peak 10 vice president and general manager responsible for Tampa-based operations. "Its staff was also impressed by our level of customer support and commitment to investing in new technologies so that we, and our customers, can stay ahead of the industry curve."

Peak 10 operates data centers in 10 key U.S. markets, serving customers around the globe. Peak 10's enterprise-class facilities are the backbone for its robust cloud offerings, which include Enterprise and Private Cloud services, a HIPAA-compliant Cloud service, a PCI-compliant Cloud service and a Recovery Cloud service.
