Patient Demand for High-Quality Medical Imaging at a Competitive Price Drives Expansion for a Local Provider

Center for Diagnostic Imaging Expands Its Network to Six Outpatient Centers in Massachusetts

CHELMSFORD, MA--(Marketwired - Jul 26, 2013) -  Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) establishes a strong footprint of six outpatient imaging centers in Massachusetts through the acquisition of The MRI Centers of New England. This new CDI network gives patients better access to a nationally recognized leader in high-quality medical imaging.

"We are excited about growing our presence in Massachusetts," states Jennifer Gilchrist, director of operations at CDI. "CDI gives patients an alternative for high-quality care at costs around 30 - 50 percent less than hospital-affiliated providers in the area, which is significant given the growing popularity of high-deductible health plans and larger co-pays. Also, we're the only area provider to offer high-field open MRI, which is a highly desirable option for a better patient experience, especially for claustrophobic patients or those too large for a traditional MRI."

CDI is one of the largest and one of the first providers of outpatient imaging services in the country. Founded on a commitment to high-quality, cost-effective, exceptional patient care, CDI offers communities in the Boston area access to advanced high-field MRI services, X-ray and arthrography, as well as the area's only high-field open MRI.

"CDI entered the market just over a year ago when we came together with Insight Imaging, the parent company to MRI of Chelmsford and Open MRI of Dedham," states Patricia Zadra, senior vice president at CDI. "Recently, we acquired two of the four MRI Centers of New England locations in Woburn and Peabody. We are managing the remaining two locations in Haverhill and Springfield, bringing our total Massachusetts presence to six centers."
