Opengear Continues to Grow Enterprise IT-OT Base, Expands Its Installation Environments, and Enhances Its Product Lines

Product Upgrades and New Capabilities on Display at Interop New York 2013

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 30, 2013) - Interop -- Opengear (www.opengear.com), a leading provider of critical infrastructure management solutions through advanced console servers, remote management, monitoring, and cellular out-of-band products, is recognizing its exponential growth in integrating information technology with operational technology (IT-OT) and will be presenting key enhancements to its popular ACM5000 product line at Interop New York, held September 30-October 4 in New York City. Opengear will be available for demos at Booth #638.

"The convergence of IT with operational technology provides better management tools for operations functions such as power, cooling, and security," said Rick Stevenson, CEO, Opengear. "Opengear's standard-based management for remote infrastructure allows for the monitoring and maintenance of these functions even when IT and OT equipment is switched off, not installed, or non-functioning. We're excited to be back at Interop once again to show why Gartner named us a 'Cool Vendor' in IT-OT Alignment and Integration in 2013."

At Interop New York, Opengear will be demonstrating the products that have allowed the decade-old company to become a leader in integrating information and operational technology. The marked increase in new enterprise customers turning to Opengear's solutions has coincided with the company's focus on integrating information technology with operational technology, a strategy that also supports infrastructure upgrades and new projects for these enterprises. Market feedback stresses platforms that have both the horsepower and connectors to match newly upgraded network infrastructures, and Opengear continues to push in that direction.

Opengear will be making key product debuts and enhancements -- designed for IT-OT success -- to its ACM5000 line of remote management solutions, including:

  • Brand new product models: The ACM5002-F-E, ACM5003-M-F-E and the ACM50004-F-E all include 4GB flash storage and environmental monitoring in addition to the standard out-of-band console management capabilities.
  • Flash memory built in for remote disaster recovery and forensics services: To minimize disruption and downtime, Opengear is extending its popular TFTP server and offline log storage functionality across the majority of its product range.
  • Environmental monitoring: Designed for IT-OT, all ACM5000 models -- including cellular product versions -- will include environmental monitoring to quickly respond to changes in temperature, humidity, smoke, vibration, and more.
  • Sprint connectivity and support: ACM5004 product integration into Sprint's network gives customers fast cellular network connectivity and enhanced support.
