'Harvest Moon' Gala an event for Autism Speaks Canada

VAUGHAN, Ontario, Oct. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On October 26, the 2nd annual Harvest Moon gala will be held in Vaughan at the West End River Event Centre at 5:30pm.

Cost is $100 per ticket or $900 per table of 10 with all proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks Canada.

The event aims to build on last year's success that was a private evening held at the home of the organizers, John and Fi Ferraro. Inspired to do more, the Ferraros joined forces with Autism Speaks Canada's President and CEO, Frank Viti, and found a premiere sponsor for the event in Tommy Hilfiger, moving this year's gala to a larger venue.

"There was such great feedback and support," says Fi Ferraro, "that we decided to take it to the next level the following year. So many people want to support this cause and do whatever they can to help".

Entertainment for the evening includes comedian and actress Carla Collins, legendary Canadian artist Maestro Fresh Wes, Bret Higgins Jazz Quintet, and visually impaired musician, Adrien Breda. The evening will include a variety of tasting stations offering world cuisine with accompanying wines, followed by a silent auction that features work by artists who are on the autism spectrum. Several door prizes will be offered including the grand prize, provided by Finch Centre Jewelers, valued at over $5200.
