KPMG's Ed Sullivan to Moderate "Financing the Early Stage Company" Panel at 11th Annual MIT Sloan CFO Summit

More Than 600 CFOs and Other Leaders to Discuss Top Challenges Facing Senior Financial Executives

BOSTON, Nov. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ed Sullivan, leader of the New England Venture Capital Practice (NEVCP) of KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory services firm, will moderate the "Financing the Early Stage Company" panel at the 2013 MIT Sloan CFO Summit on November 21.

Financial executives from around the globe will gather with world class MIT Sloan faculty at the Boston Marriott Newton to collaborate and discuss how to become more strategic business leaders and tactical business operators. The Summit will provide executives with valuable insight on how to navigate the changing role of today's CFO.

"Entrepreneurs have never had such a broad array of funding sources—from maxing credit cards to crowd sourcing; financing from friends and family to private placements; angel funding to asset-based lending," said KPMG partner Ed Sullivan. "In the 'Financing the Early Stage Company' panel, we will help CFOs of rapidly growing companies explore the pros and cons of various funding options."

"CFOs require a broader skill set as their role evolves from a 'technical expert' to a client facing executive leader," said Jack McCullough, co-chairman of the Summit and director at KPMG's Global Innovation Center in Cambridge. "The Summit provides a platform for CFOs to identify and embrace their new responsibilities as they move beyond the finance function."
