Radware Releases Defense4All, Industry-First Open SDN Security Application for OpenDaylight Project

Radware's SDN Application Provides DoS and DDoS Protection as a Native Network Service in Hydrogen - First Release of Open Source SDN Platform

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and MAHWAH, N.J., Feb. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- [OPEN DAYLIGHT SUMMIT] -- Radware®(Nasdaq:RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced its contribution to the OpenDaylight Project with Defense4All, the industry's first open SDN security application to be integrated into OpenDaylight.

Radware's Defense4All offers carriers and cloud providers DoS and DDoS detection and mitigation as a native network service. Utilizing the OpenDaylight SDN Controller that programs SDN-enabled networks to become part of the DoS/DDoS protection service itself, Defense4All allows operators to provision a DoS/DDoS protection service per virtual network segment or per customer.

The result is complete abstraction of the anti-DoS resource provisioning and alignment with network operations to provide, manage and monitor DoS protection as a service within the SDN ecosystem.

"With Defense4All, we can revolutionize the way security services are implemented and managed," says David Aviv, vice president, advanced services, Radware. "By using the programmability of SDN technologies to collect statistics, analyze the information and control the infrastructure layer to proactively defend against DoS and DDoS network flood attacks, we transform point security solutions into highly scalable network services that are easy to provision and offer tremendous cost reduction."

Defense4All is part of the OpenDaylight SDN Controller framework (first code release "Hydrogen") that includes the Radware's Defense4All SDN application; and includes reference code for the automation of attack mitigation with Radware's DefensePro® attack mitigation product line.

Radware is also scheduled for two presentations during the OpenDaylight Summit. On Wednesday, February 5th, Gera Goft, senior architecture for Radware will speak about the design process for Defense4All, and how leveraging the collaborative development model of OpenDaylight helped expedite the development process.

The same afternoon, Benny Rochwerger, senior architecture for Radware will speak about the process of integrating Defense4All in OpenDaylight. Additional information can be found at http://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/opendaylight-summit
