Battelle and Birling Avian Laboratories to Discuss Using Predictive Modeling to Protect the Australian Food Supply Chain at the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Conference

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Jun 23, 2014) -  Battelle and Birling Avian Laboratories scientists will discuss using Battelle's PRIA™ Food Safety Software to anticipate and mitigate food contamination events at Australia's premier food science and technology conference.

Now six months into the customization process, Birling scientists will discuss:

• its vision for using risk-based software analytics to improve safety across the Australian food supply chain; 
• how it is incorporating Battelle's predictive analytics software into its supply chain operations;
• highlights of long-term economic benefits of predictive modeling;
• plans for further integrating Battelle's predictive modeling and data management capabilities. 

PRIA, Probabilistic Risk Informed Analysis, is a software and modeling tool that allows food safety professionals to proactively assess the effectiveness of mitigation strategies -- before an event occurs. It allows processors to move away from spread sheets and perform high quality assessments that are quicker, more mathematically robust and better documented for regulatory purposes.

PRIA uses powerful mathematical algorithms to perform rapid simulations that take into account all the variables involved in the process, down to the granular level, in order to pinpoint areas of risk and improve consumer safety by addressing product recalls and improving product quality.
