GovDelivery's Bobbie Browning Shares Insights on Improving Customer Service Within the Public Sector at Carahsoft Seminar

Browning Joins Panel of Experts to Advise Government Organizations on Achieving Mission and Program Results

WASHINGTON, June 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GovDelivery's Bobbie Browning spoke to a crowd of more than 100 government employees and contractors at Carahsoft's Fourth Annual Citizen Engagement Seminar. As Senior Vice President of Enterprise Strategy at the leading provider of cloud-based public sector communication solutions, Browning leveraged GovDelivery's work with more than 1000 public sector organizations to provide valuable insights around how government agencies can improve customer service and stakeholder engagement. Joining a panel of experts at the seminar, Browning shared examples of public sector organizations already doing great work when it comes to customer service as well as specific details on what drives strong programs.

During the discussion, Browning shared a poignant example in describing how the SBA Office of Disaster Assistance and FEMA are working together to get disaster assistance loans to those who need them more quickly and efficiently by using digital communications to drive online loan applications, versus paper applications. This and other examples of organizations that are improving stakeholder engagement were included in GovDelivery's recent Engaged Citizen Infographic, which can be viewed at bit.ly/engage-pr. In the broader discussion around new trends in citizen engagement and technology, Browning reinforced the perspective of other conference speakers who highlighted the importance of learning from private sector companies that are becoming more anticipatory, proactive, and data-driven when interacting with customers. In addition to attendees, the event was streamed live to hundreds of other government employees around the country. "It was great to be part of such a valuable discussion, especially as it relates to really encouraging the public sector to use data to personalize and tailor communications to be unique and useful to stakeholders," said Browning. "As was discussed throughout the event, government organizations who are using technology to connect with more people and then leverage those connections to drive action and increase citizen engagement are seeing the real benefits of that engagement, including significantly improved citizen satisfaction."

Browning joined the GovDelivery team in July 2008, bringing with her more than 25 years of federal information technology experience. Since then, she has built and led a team dedicated to improving communications and outreach in the public sector. Browning's excellent leadership was recognized in June 2010 with a promotion to Senior Vice President. Her passion is ensuring clients make the most effective use of digital communication services in the context of their mission. Browning is a recognized leader in the IT Industry. She serves as the Membership Chair on the Board of Directors of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) DC Chapter and is an active member of ACT/IAC.
