Bit6 Gaining Momentum in Effort to Revolutionize How Developers Integrate Communications Into Apps

Will Demonstrate Communications-as-a-Service Platform at Today's Nokia Silicon Valley Open Innovation Challenge and at the Telecom Council Innovation Showcase During Super Mobility Week

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bit6 (www.bit6.com), a communications as-a-service platform provider that revolutionizes how developers integrate communications into apps, is among the companies selected to participate in the Nokia Silicon Valley Open Innovation Challenge and the Telecom Council 2014 Innovation Showcase. Its selection in the two judged events illustrates Bit6's growing traction as well as its game changing innovation that promises to shape the future of the telecommunications industry.

Later today, Bit6 will demonstrate its real-time cloud-based platform at the Nokia Silicon Valley Open Innovation Challenge. Bit6 and 17 other companies were chosen to participate from a field of nearly 100 submissions. The event, at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, is expected to attract 125 decision-makers including VCs, operators and analysts.

Additionally, Bit6 has been selected to participate in the Telecom Council 2014 Innovation Showcase. The showcase, which is presented by the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley in coordination with CTIA – The Wireless Association®, takes place during Super Mobility Week in September. It highlights a small group of innovative companies chosen from more than 100 applicants based on innovation, momentum, viability and management.

"We have made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and we're excited to be selected to participate in these two prestigious and high-profile events," said Alexey Goloshubin, CEO and CTO of Bit6. "We look forward to discussing the rapidly emerging WebRTC space and the amazing things our communications-as-a-service platform is making possible for mobile and web applications to embrace the power of in-app communication features. With all the interest and attention on this market, we are fortunate to have an early mover advantage by leveraging the proven real-time cloud-based communications platform on which Voxofon's apps were developed for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry."

Each month, the Bit6 platform supports millions of calls and messages across more than 200 countries for Voxofon's apps.

Bit6 has an ongoing beta program through which developers can access its proven communications-as-a-service platform to quickly and easily integrate proven voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging into their apps. Since launching the beta at the end of April, Bit6 has released its iOS software development kit (SDK) and JavaScript SDK, which supports Web applications. Both the iOS and JavaScripts SDKs support app-to-app messaging, real-time notifications and voice or video calling.

With Bit6, app developers no longer have to build a communications stack from scratch. Instead, several straightforward lines of code make it possible to weave voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging into their apps, speeding up time to market and unlocking a new wave of innovation. Developers do not need any additional infrastructure, software, or licenses to utilize these services.

Through participation in the Telecom Council 2014 Innovation Showcase, Bit6 will have a demonstration table at the CTIA 2014 ShowStoppers media event that kicks off CTIA's Super Mobility Week on September 8. Bit6 also gets stage time at Super Mobility Week on September 9-11, and will present at the Telecom Council Investor Forum on September 26.
