How Educators Can Access $2 Billion in K-12 Technology ConnectED Commitments

RSVP to SETDA's Back-to-School Webinar, September 11 at 2pm ET

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Aug 18, 2014) - The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), the principal membership association representing U.S. state and territorial educational technology leaders, announced today it is accepting RSVPs to a free, back-to-school webinar it is hosting on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2 - 3:15pm ET to describe how U.S. K-12 educators can access the $2 billion in donated and discounted educational technology being made available under President Obama's ConnectED Initiative.

ConnectED is intended to enrich K-12 education for every student in America by leveraging the power of technology for learning, including through public-private partnerships with leading technology companies. To date, the President has announced that ten companies have pledged $2 billion in support toward advancing ConnectED goals. SETDA's work is designed to highlight these commitments and help ensure that students and teachers most in need of support benefit from these unprecedented public-private partnership offerings. Participating companies include: Adobe, AT&T, Autodesk, Esri, Microsoft, Prezi, Safari Books Online, Sprint Corporation and Verizon.

During this webinar, each ConnectED company will have an opportunity to describe their ConnectED offerings and provide any updates on how educators and school leaders can take advantage of their programs. Ample time for participant questions will follow, and the event will be archived and made publicly available as a service to the K-12 community.

Richard Culatta, Director of the Office of Educational Technology at the US Department of Education will make opening remarks.
