MEDIA ADVISORY: tranSMART Foundation Holds Launch Events for tranSMART Version 1.2 Open-Source Knowledge Management Platform


WAKEFIELD, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 8, 2014) -

WHAT:
The tranSMART Foundation is holding two launch events for the release of tranSMART Version 1.2, its open-source knowledge management platform developed for the life science industry. Version 1.2 is a result of a nine-month collaborative effort by a global community of a couple hundred scientific and technical experts. The events will include introductions from the Foundation team and demonstrations by community members and contributors which will highlight the extensive new functionality that has been added to the platform.

The two events will be held in the United States and the United Kingdom and also offered online via a webinar.

WHO:
The tranSMART Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides an open-source, cloud-based, data-sharing and analysis platform that enables scientists at universities, disease foundations, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies around the world to share pre-competitive data in a way that saves money and time in translating research findings into new therapies and diagnostic tools. Founded to steward the tranSMART platform, the Foundation is headquartered in Wakefield, Massachusetts with Centers of Excellence in Ann Arbor, Mich.; London, England; Boston, Mass.; and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
