Pathway Health and National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care Enter Into Strategic Collaborative Agreement

CINCINNATI, Ohio and WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn., Sept. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pathway Health, a leading post-acute consulting services, interim management and education company, and the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA/LTC), a leading professional association dedicated to supporting directors of nursing and senior nursing administrators working in long-term care, are pleased to announce they have entered into a strategic collaborative agreement for the provision of training, education and certification programs for nurse executives.

Currently, there are approximately 29,000 nurse executives throughout the U.S. serving in the long-term care market. Long-term care providers face an especially harsh turnover rate for nurse executives. According to a Sept. 27, 2011 "Advancing Excellence Campaign" study by the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, the average turnover rate for a Director of Nursing position is 39 percent. Even more staggering, it is reported there is a nearly 63 percent turnover rate for staff RNs.

"Achieving a high quality of care in long-term care relies on a stable, educated workforce," says Deborah L. Schuna, Pathway Health's Chief Executive Officer. "Pathway Health is honored to stand side-by-side with NADONA/LTC to support the hard work and dedication of nurse executives who provide leadership to a challenging market."

Through this collaborative agreement, Pathway Health will support NADONA/LTC to grow and develop some of the finest nurse executive leaders in the long-term care profession and address the increasing need for highly trained, experienced nurse executives.

"NADONA is very excited to be working closely with Pathway Health to provide new training and the education nurse executives need in this fast-moving, ever-changing health care environment," stated Sherrie Dornberger, NADONA/LTC's Executive Director. "Knowing NADONA and Pathway Health both have exceptional leaders with proven track records adds to the excitement of our collaboration."

The first offerings are two joint webinars: The DON's Guide to the Top 5 F-Tags, being held on Sept. 25, and Achieving Plan of Correction Perfection, scheduled for Oct. 16. To register, visit shoppathwayhealth.com.
