New Cloud Technology Turns Smartphones into Surveillance Cameras

Smartvue Corporation Announces Application That Connects Smartphone, Tablet and Computer Cameras to Live Video Surveillance Networks

ATLANTA, Sept. 30, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At ASIS, one of the world's largest security conferences, Smartvue® Corporation announced a new application called Contribute®, designed to connect web enabled devices with cameras to video surveillance security cloud networks. Smartvue's Contribute application turns any authorized Smartphone, tablet or smart glasses into portable or wearable surveillance cameras. This new patent-pending innovation allows users to share videos and photos in real-time as events unfold.

"We saw the need for an affordable and portable surveillance solution that security professionals could bring with them as they respond to events and patrol," said Martin Renkis, Founder & CEO of Smartvue Corporation. "By utilizing cloud technology, we developed an elegantly simple solution that is easy to deploy and fits in the palm of your hand."

Security personnel could use Contribute to stream live video and upload recorded video directly to security management when approaching a suspect or incident. Video captured on these authorized devices will upload through the cloud, directly to the same security database used for surveillance cameras. Video uploaded this way is time-stamped and watermarked with a tamper proof seal providing that extra level of evidence and security management. Contribute will be available in Q4 2014.
