Dermira Added to Russell 2000(R) Index


MENLO PARK, Calif., Dec. 22, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dermira, Inc. (Nasdaq:DERM), a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative and differentiated medical dermatology products to dermatologists and their patients, today announced that the company was added to the Russell 2000® Index as part of Russell Investments' quarterly addition of select initial public offering (IPO) companies. Dermira joined the index after the equity markets closed on December 19, 2014. The stock also was added systematically to the appropriate Russell growth and value indexes.

The Russell 2000 Index measures the performance of the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity universe and is a subset of the Russell 3000® Index. Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $5.2 trillion in assets are benchmarked to the Russell Indexes.
