NEW YORK, NY and PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 10, 2015) - MongoDB today announced the 2015 members of the MongoDB Masters, an annual program run by MongoDB to recognize and empower leaders in the MongoDB community. Comprised of core contributors and community evangelists, the MongoDB Masters are dedicated to sharing their passion and technical expertise with the MongoDB community around the world and play a vital role in the adoption, education and advancement of MongoDB.
Among the 2015 MongoDB Masters list is Mark Callaghan, a member of the Technical Staff at Facebook. "MongoDB is an exciting and important technology that has already had a tremendous impact on how we build and manage today's data-driven applications," said Callaghan. "I believe in MongoDB's potential and am committed to contributing code that not only helps me get the features and functionality I need, but benefits the entire community. Being a Master gives me the opportunity to interact with the MongoDB engineering team and engage with other passionate developers and ops professionals to advance the value of MongoDB."
To demonstrate their expertise, Masters must complete MongoDB professional certification. They participate in regular Q&A sessions with the MongoDB engineering team, have the opportunity to provide feedback on the product roadmap and get early access to new products and services. They are also invited to the annual Masters Summit at MongoDB World.
"From the beginning, the community has been an essential part of MongoDB's success, and it remains so today," said Eliot Horowitz, CTO and Co-founder at MongoDB. "The passion and commitment of our vibrant community is impressive and we're appreciative to have such a strong group of ambassadors, educators and advocates sharing their first-hand knowledge and expertise. Our continued investment in the Masters program and the community is not a choice -- it's a way of life for us."

Additional Supporting Quotes
"There are two things that I have especially enjoyed about being in the MongoDB Masters group the past year," said Jai Hirsch, Systems Architect at CARFAX. "First, the opportunity to learn more about the MongoDB roadmap and provide feedback based on first-hand experiences. Second, the chance to work directly with the other MongoDB Masters. The Masters group has an incredible amount of knowledge and talent within it, and it is great to be able to ask for insights and provide feedback on each other's questions. The MongoDB Masters program is truly an amazing resource for all involved."
"The MongoDB Masters program is a collection of very strong talent," said Dai Shi, Site Reliability Engineer at Foursquare. "Being part of the MongoDB Masters group will allow me to build my technical expertise with others in the field. I also look forward to sharing my knowledge of MongoDB with others planning future deployments and learning about their own different approaches."
