DEL SOL ANNOUNCES THEIR NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY CONTEST


SANDY UT, UTAH, April 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Del Sol, in partnership with the David B. Pedersen Foundation, is pleased to announce they will be holding a "Del Sol National Scholarship Essay Contest". The winner selected will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

ABOUT THE DAVID B. PEDERSEN FOUNDATION
 
The David B. Pedersen Foundation began in 2005 and has since awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to more than 200 students. Del Sol Chairman and CEO, Jeff Pedersen, his parents (Bob and Catherine Pedersen), and his seven siblings created and organized this foundation in honor of their youngest brother and son, David, who passed away in September 2005. The foundation awards scholarships to outstanding students who have bounced back from life's obstacles and shown resilience and achievement in scholastics and being drug-free.
 
SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST DETAILS
 
Once yearly, the Del Sol Team will hold an essay contest to award a $1,500 scholarship to one deserving student to put toward his or her tuition and fees.
 
To be eligible, students must be attending or planning to attend an accredited American university or college. There is no age requirement.
 
To apply, students must submit a 400-600 word essay on the topic: When you have encountered and overcome personal adversity, and what goal(s) and/or accolade(s) you have achieved despite your challenges and/or adversities.
 
The essay submission deadline is 12:00 midnight EST March 31, 2016. The scholarship program will be ongoing with one winner awarded each calendar year. Scholarships will be awarded in May.
