The current Fly6, which was released in late 2014, is now priced at US $169, down from $249; AU $199 down from $275, and in the UK down from £179 to £99.
In the US, Fly6 is now being distributed by both Cyclone Bicycle Supply and Trek Bicycle, and is available at many REI stores. The company has also reached an exclusive distribution agreement with Wiggle for the UK, Ireland, parts of Europe (TBD), Japan and New Zealand.
Fly6 is the first HD camera and tail-light combo designed specifically for cyclists. The innovative safety device replaces your existing tail-light and records what happens behind you in real-time. The name Fly6 blends two phrases: "A fly on the wall," for watching and listening where you normally can't, and "6," which is the military term for "your back" (as in 6 o'clock).
The device is 3.4 inches (87mm) high and weighs 4oz (113g) with up to six hours of run time. The 1080 x 720 HD camera and features audio recording, looping record for set-and-forget use; a USB-rechargeable battery and uses Nano Technology for weathering wet conditions. It also integrates incident capture technology, which ensures important footage isn't looped over in the event of a serious incident.
