World's Toughest Job Video from American Greetings Continues to Inspire Gratitude for Moms

CLEVELAND, April 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- More than 23 million people have viewed the World's Toughest Job video debuted by American Greetings last year. It has been translated into more than a dozen languages and shared with everyone from friends on social media, associates in business presentations, congregations at church services, national and international television audiences and so many more. Even yesterday, people are still discovering and sharing the viral video for the first time. Evidenced by the daily stream of parenting articles, quotes, advice, stories, tips and blogs, this perennial belief that parenthood is difficult and deserves appreciation continues to be a popular topic.

According to a recent Harris Poll survey, 81% of U.S. adults believe that moms are underappreciated; yet, 61% of U.S. adults say mom tops the list of who deserves the most gratitude in their life.* Mother's Day is only a few weeks away, and American Greetings wants to remind everyone of the importance of acknowledging the moms in their life. It's not enough to assume that mom knows you love and appreciate her; the key to strengthening meaningful connections between people is to express that love and gratitude.

"Even after a full year, the overwhelming response to our World's Toughest Job video shows that people really do think moms deserve the most gratitude, and the new survey data confirms this," said Alex Ho, Executive Director of Marketing for American Greetings. "Inspiring people to practice gratitude is important for American Greetings as we strive to help make the world a more thoughtful and caring place."

Inviting others to practice thankfulness is taken a step further with ThankList, the recently launched social movement from American Greetings that encourages everyone to recognize those people who have made a positive impact in their life. Via written word or a dynamic personal video, all messages of thanks are aggregated into a collective, never-ending ThankList. An increasing number of people creating ThankList entries are expressing appreciation for their mother, and Mother's Day is the perfect time to use ThankList as a tool to remind mom how much you care.
