AseraCare Celebrates Life and Remembers Loved Ones with its Annual Nationwide A Butterfly to Remember Hospice Memorial Event

PLANO, Texas, June 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AseraCare today announced its third annual nationwide hospice event called A Butterfly to Remember with all 55 AseraCare hospice agencies participating in and hosting community events across the nation throughout the month of June.

A Butterfly to Remember supports hospice awareness and memorializes the people who have passed in the last year with a special ceremony that includes testimonials and memorable stories. The event culminates with the release of butterflies, balloons and bubbles.

"At each of our A Butterfly to Remember events, AseraCare offers our former patients' families and friends, and our hospice caregivers a chance to honor life, remember loved ones and share stories in a special memorial event together," said Angie Hollis-Sells, President of AseraCare.

She added, "Each event is unique with some events taking place at a church and others in community parks while others will be held in monasteries, assisted living centers and nursing homes. A few of our events have become part of local spring and summer events held by local chambers of commerce or other community organizations."

AseraCare plans to release more than 3,000 butterflies through the series of community memorial events. Many of the activities leading up to the butterfly release include local speakers, local dignitaries in attendance, music, color guard and special coloring books for children in attendance.

"We have worked with our chamber of commerce each year to lead a community customer appreciation event in June. We kick off the events with a few words about life and appreciating our loved ones and then release our butterflies," said Kim Beasley, Executive Director for AseraCare of Hamilton in Alabama. "It is a wonderful opportunity for our families and caregivers to connect. Many attendees thank our caregivers for all of the care and support they provided to patients and family they know while at the event."

Butterflies universally signify transformation. They bring a special meaning to the A Butterfly to Remember events as AseraCare's former patients have changed their loved ones lives as well as AseraCare caregivers' lives in some way – past and present.

The A Butterfly to Remember event will be kicked off at the AseraCare Corporate office in Plano, Texas on June 4. AseraCare President Angie Hollis-Sells and Jamee Jolly, President and CEO of the Plano Chamber of Commerce scheduled to attend.

On June12, the AseraCare administrative office in Fort Smith, Ark. will mark this nationwide event with A Butterfly to Remember ceremony around its lake with AseraCare President Angie Hollis-Sells releasing butterflies and local dignitary, Mathew Pitsch, from District 76 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, confirmed to attend.

AseraCare's A Butterfly to Remember events are held in Alabama, California, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
