CHICAGO, July 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wedbush Futures, a division of Wedbush Securities Inc. and a full-service futures commission merchant, announced today that Nasdaq Futures, Inc. (NFX) will be available to its clients when the platform launches on July 24, 2015. NFX is the exchange group's U.S.-based designated contract market regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, offering futures and options on futures in energy benchmarks, including oil, natural gas, and U.S. power.
"The decision to provide access to NFX was driven by client demand and one which we are happy to accommodate. Our clients are interested in new and unique trading opportunities to complement their existing energy trading strategies and Nasdaq has a strong track record of supporting new markets" offered Carl Gilmore, Co-Head of the Futures at Wedbush Securities.
"We are pleased to welcome Wedbush as a new member to NFX and applaud them for enabling customers to access our new platform to manage their trading and hedging needs," said Magnus Haglind, Vice President of Global Trading and Market Services. "NFX aims to deliver more value to customers at a significantly lower cost than the competition. Wedbush has clearly demonstrated that they want to expand and grow their services to the trading community through innovation."
Wedbush Futures clients will be able to choose from several leading ISVs when trading NFX, including Trading Technologies, CQQ, and OptionsCity. Additionally, Wedbush's multi-asset class trading capability means clients are able to access cash denominated energy products and trade them alongside their futures positions.
Earlier this month, Wedbush Futures announced that Thomas Anderson joined the company as SVP, Head of Proprietary Trading Group Services. Anderson is now responsible for growing Wedbush's PTG offerings across multiple asset classes, and helping existing PTG customers achieve their trading objectives.
