Canada's Nurses to Hold Press Conference on Federal Financing of Health Care

ST. JOHN'S, July 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) will hold a press conference tomorrow (Thursday, July 16) at 10 a.m. in The Narrows, Sheraton Hotel. The press conference follows a closed session with provincial and territorial premiers at the Council of Federation regarding the future of health care in Canada.
Economist Hugh Mackenzie and former Parliamentary Budget Officer Kevin Page will be available to discuss a new report outlining the impacts of reduced federal transfers on provincial health budgets.

The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) is Canada's largest nurses' organization representing close to 200,000 nurses and student nurses. The CFNU has been advocating for national discussions on key health priorities, such as a national prescription drug plan, a comprehensive approach to long-term and continuing care, greater attention to health human resources, and federal government engagement on the future of public health care.
