Albioma finalises the acquisition of a 65% stake in Codora Energia in Brazil

On 4 August 2015, Albioma finalised the acquisition of a 65% equity interest in Codora Energia, a company owning a 48 MW bagasse-fuelled cogeneration plant located in the state of Goiás in Brazil. The Jalles Machado group, the world's second-largest organic sugar producer, will retain a 35% stake in the company.

Codora Energia benefits from a long-term power purchase agreement secured until 2026 covering the export of 87 GWh/year at an attractive, inflation-indexed price of BRL 205/MWh. Furthermore, in anticipation of the commissioning of a new 20 MW turbine in 2017, Codora Energia has secured a long-term contract for the sale of 54 GWh per year for a 20-year period starting in 2020 at the historically-high inflation-indexed price of BRL 278/MWh.

Albioma has been supervising the operations of the plant since the start of the sugar harvest. Finalisation of this transaction should result in a positive impact on both EBITDA and net income (Group share) from 2015 on.

Next on the agenda: release (pre-trading) of revenue figures for the third quarter of the 2015 financial year, on 28 October 2015.

ABOUT ALBIOMA

Albioma is an independent energy producer and world leader in the conversion of biomass into a highly-effective source of energy, in collaboration with its agri-business partners. For more than 20 years, Albioma has operated power plants recovering bagasse, a fibrous by-product of sugar cane, replaced by coal outside the sugar cane harvest. Its unique expertise has enabled Albioma to establish itself as an indispensable partner in the sugar and ethanol industry in the French overseas territories and Mauritius. Albioma is now developing power plants using only biomass, which recover, in addition to bagasse, green waste and wood industry residue. The Group also operates a highly-efficient photovoltaic installation and agricultural anaerobic digestion units. In 2014, the Group, which already had a presence in mainland France, the French overseas territories and Mauritius, began operating in Brazil, the world's leading sugar cane producer.
