Applied DNA Sciences and MSS Professional A/S Sign Agreement to Distribute SmokeCloak(R) DNA Fog Security Solutions

STONY BROOK, NY--(Marketwired - September 10, 2015) - Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: APDN), (Twitter: @APDN), a provider of DNA-based anti-counterfeiting technology, product genotyping and product authentication solutions, announced today a new three year worldwide agreement with partner MSS Professional A/S for the exclusive supply of SigNature®DNA for use in the unique SmokeCloak® DNA security fog system.

This agreement follows many months of partnership working between APDN, MSS Professional and Smoke & Screen Security Solutions (SmokeCloak Distributor for North America) to ensure the product is customer-friendly and provides forensic evidence to the high standards required by courts of law.

The unique SmokeCloak DNA security fog system, when deployed in pharmacies, banks, and other commercial/retail locations, works to protect staff, customers and assets. A thick and disorienting fog wards off offenders and deposits a unique, location-specific DNA marker on skin, clothing and stolen items. The combination of fog and DNA technologies has proven to be a deterrent to criminals; people and property are safer.

"This agreement provides MSS Professional A/S a significant unique selling point and tremendous benefits for our clients. Our Smoke systems serve to prevent criminals from stealing items as they cannot steal what they cannot see. The addition of SigNature DNA, which is mixed with the fog, enables law enforcement agencies to forensically link criminals and goods to a crime scene as each SmokeCloak unit will feature a unique DNA code. It is our expectation that SmokeCloak, together with APDN's DNA will prevent thousands of burglaries and robberies throughout the world," said Nick Bigler, CEO of MSS Professional A/S.

"We are delighted to continue to work with our partner MSS Professional A/S and their distributors. We believe that together we provide a unique winning combination of the leading fogging system and forensic SigNature DNA product, the latter of which has already helped to convict over 100 criminals," said Dr. James A Hayward, President and CEO of Applied DNA Sciences. "As is typical of our applications -- from protection against metal theft, to prevention of counterfeiting in electronics and textiles -- SmokeCloak DNA stands alone. It was created in collaboration with the law-enforcement community and we are proud that SmokeCloak DNA can make the world a safer place."

SmokeCloak DNA received a Popular Science "Best of What's New 2014" Award in the Security category, and has been featured on Discovery Channel Canada, WABC-TV, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and other media outlets.
