Buffalo Company, LineLogic, Supplies 8,000 Crowd Control Barricades to City of Philadelphia for Pope's Visit This Month

Buffalo crowd control company, LineLogic, was recently contracted by members of the Philadelphia government and Grainger Industrial Supply to provide a record 8,000 bike rack barricades for crowd control and security at the upcoming papal visit in Philadelphia at the end of September.

BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday, September 26, the Pope will visit Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families. On the day of his arrival, the Pope will celebrate a semi-private Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, followed by a visit to Philly's Independence Mall, ending with the public Festival of Families. Sunday's activities include a meeting with the Bishops at St. Martin's Chapel, a visit to a Philadelphia Correctional Facility, a closing Mass for the World Meeting of Families, and a meeting with organizers, volunteers, and benefactors of the meeting. He heads back to Rome Sunday night.

It's a lot of activity, and it's expected to draw crowds in the hundreds of thousands. That's why city officials in Philadelphia, along with members from Homeland Security and the Secret Service, have been preparing for months. With so many people expected in the city at public Papal events, crowd control is a top concern. And that's how Buffalo crowd control company LineLogic got involved.

Started in 2011, LineLogic specializes in developing public guidance and line management solutions for events and organizations of all types and sizes. So when officials from the city of Philadelphia reached out to Grainger Industrial Supply, they subcontracted LineLogic to provide 8,000 Bike Rack Barricades for crowd control and security.

"It's not just about keeping people safe, it's about making each event efficient," says Jeff Budzinski, the representative from LineLogic who worked on the project. "We deal with situations like this all the time. Though they're usually on a smaller scale, it's the same principle. Any business, facility, or event can benefit from proper line management and crowd control. Ensuring that people know where they can and cannot go - especially as many people as Philly will host that weekend - is imperative for a safe, efficient, and organized atmosphere."

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security has designated Pope Francis' visit a National Security Special Event (NSSE). This designation means that the United States Secret Service assumes its mandated role as the lead agency for the design and implementation of the operational security plan.
